It achieves a smooth finish thanks to its high maximum oscillating speed of 24000RPM, although its speed can be adjusted as low as 14000RPM, depending on the material at hand. The Milwaukee M18 BOS125-0 Random Orbital Sander is compatible with universal hook and loop sandpaper. This type of sandpaper works well and is easy to install/remove. The sander handles dust extraction well. Dust can either be deposited into the included dust bag, or it can be extracted into one of Milwaukee's dust extractors. A vacuum adaptor is included.
